Gregory P. Franz is a Musical Director and Multi-Instrumentalist from Long Island, New York, who has performed throughout the Island, as well as New York, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, and London, England. Greg is incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to work on both sides of the Atlantic as a creative and a musician.

Greg received his B.S. in Music Education from Long Island University (LIU Post), concentrating on Piano and Voice as his two primary instruments. During his time, he studied piano with David Holzman (Classical), Richie Iacona (Jazz), and Lee Tomboulian (Jazz), as well as continuing his Jazz Ensemble studies with Dr. Jennifer Miceli (Voice) and Jeff Lederer (Big Band/Latin Combo).

He then continued his studies at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS was ranked #4 Best Conservatory in the world in 2022) with a M.A. in Musical Directing; a few of the faculty included David Higham, Pete Woollard, Chris Pugh, and Stuart Morley. He is incredibly grateful for the experience of working as Associate Musical Director for R&H Cinderella and Sweeney Todd under MD Sarah de Tute. During his final semester, Greg musically directing and Piano/Guitar conducted a production of Godspell at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2022.

After finishing at RCS, Greg worked for P&O Cruises as PULSE Bandleader and Ship Musical Director/Supervisor. After his time aboard, he began playing in the pits of Off West End shows, and currently resides in London working at drama schools in town.
